Title: The Shop
Post by: Karl on 13, March, 2009 - 08:18:04
Just in case you were wondering, things have been a little busy lately and we've run out of a few items.

Power wiring kits and motor mod brackets are out of stock for the time being so I've taken them off the shop to prevent any being ordered while the shelf is empty  ;)

That's because your good at what you do Karl.  Your a victim of your own success.

That cooling fan mod is (as always) an awesome bit of kit. I was really impressed by the way it fits and works.

We would be lost without the help and support of you both, the runs are great and its great to make new friends with the same interests, C5 Alive has come a long way and just gets better.

Hi there
I was wondering when some more wiring kits are going to be available. I got a dusty C5 a year ago and am only now going to seriously get it back on the road. I was going to go and get an original C5 battery, but I gather Alan Harper has run out of these. Therefore I would like to use a wiring kit and car battery, but now these have run out.
Thanks in advance

Hi James,

We're working on it mate , it's just a question of available time and trying to fit everything in.

They're that good we sold out twice  :)

They are worth the wait, i struggled the most trying to get mine going using the original battery cover & ignition switch set up, but the C5 alive wiring loom made it far more user friendly i.e it works.

Can I send a cheque in to 'reserve' one? I would hate to miss out
If that is possible, for how much??

Best to give C5alive a ring.  I would think they would be in stock soon.

Please dont send me any money for stuff I haven't got  :o , thats the reason why I take stuff off the shop when I run out of things.  It helps keep life nice and simple and easy to manage  ;)

I'll let you know when they become available , promise  :)

Hi Karl,
Any updates on the wiring kit? Also, I read in some other post about  a dual battery kit, any idea when they'll hit the roads? I'm nearly finished and don't know weather  or not to wait...
Thanks
Mark

Got the wiring kit (the last one I beleive). Instructions seem comprehensive and easy to understand. Will definitely update if I am successful. Last time I did anything with electronics was in Physics when I was 13 so this will be interesting 20 years on.....

Sorry Plod, only just noticed this query.

I've never had to fit them myself - but C5martin did and said they were a simple "push fit" so no problem. You do need a spade connector to crimp to the end of the motor wires so that they fit to the relevant ends of the brushes.

I will solder them on, no problem. I have fitted similar to washing machines in the past, but not had a go getting the old ones out of the c5 motor. I think i will leave them alone for now as they are working ok, but want to have a go at stripping down a motor. The gear box was the easy bit.
