I would like to beef up the rear axle to take pit bike/ scooter type wheels - has any one here done this?
The closest I've seen would be my project C5, built by Spike;

Chris Crosskey also strengthened the rear axle for Lands End-John O Groats attempts. This was basically a re-inforcing bar across the back ,but it kept the standard wheels .
Otherwise I guess the strongest conversion must be either that used for the jet-powered C5 or Adam Harpers 150mph machine .
mine snapped when i got crushed by a truck
Bloody trucks, should'nt be allowed on the road !
Retro Andy.
P.S Karl any ideas how much Spike would charge to do another frame mod, although it will more than likely be next year before i get C5 no.2, but i would like to update and make it better, quicker, brakes and gears, but it would have to look a basic C5 when complete ?

Spike built what has now become my "Project c5" as a one off so I've no idea if he would be tempted to build another .
It might be worth dropping him an email via his c5alive profile and asking him - it would be cool to see two of them running about :)
