Keep at it dude - you will suss it !.
Hope you get it sorted soon Ray, so you can take it for a drive into town and show up the Triumph's on display. ;D

If it runs and then cuts out, then runs again after a short rest my guess is it's probably low battery power . The battery symbol on the lower left side of the dash display has a small red light in it. If low battery power is the problem this small red light will flash, then eventually stay on followed by the vehicle cutting out. This tends to happen even if the green dots on the "fuel gauge" show several "dots" of power left.
You can disconnect/remove & charge the batteries without using the onboard standard charger, but the car doesn't recognise the batteries have been charged and will refuse to run until its own charging system has been reconnected and used ....no idea how/why it does this - but it happened on mine.

Might be worth keeping an eye on Ebay.de for the charger , or try the guys in Denmark ? (link is on my other electric trike thread)
Sorry to hear you are experiencing problems with your Mini EL Ray, but i know you will get it sorted soon, looking forward to seeing it at the Norfolk run.
Retro Andy.

Took it for more test runs, the longest was about 7 miles.
Lost 3 power lights,so not to shure what the range might be?
The manufacturers claim about 20-25miles... :-\
A gent down in Bristol said he usually got about 15miles
I cant really comment since mine has very tired batteries and only manages about 5miles ;D

I think thats what they refer to as the capacitor bypass (or something similar)...the BVS gang where well surprised to see my mini-el had everything intact as the manufacturer intended.
As it's all running ok I chose to leave well alone and not start fiddling with stuff :)
If I was using the mini-el more often I might be tempted to do the modification as an emergency "get you home" .
The first show outing for the Mini EL. A Classic Vehicle Show,
At the Royal Norfolk Showground.
Lots of interest generated, and discussions about the similarities between the mini and the C5.

Weather was a bit chilly, and still some more mods needed to get the trailer right but all in all,a good outing.
Think I may have a problem with the front brake,as it is very noisy sometimes.
On(http://i781.photobucket.com/albums/yy92/ray186000mps/PICT0528.jpg) returning home, took it for a 7 mile run into town, turned lots of heads!

I thought you had sold the Mini EL Ray ?
Retro Andy.
Mini El City now all running ok.
All known problems sorted.
It is for sale but not advertised at this time,as I am waiting for my health to improve,to be able to take it to an MOT station.
Looking forwards to driving it on the road again,LOL.
Sorry to hear you are not too well Ray, hope you are feeling better soon :)
Retro Andy.
Same as Andy says - hope it's nothing too serious Ray .
Just an old recuring problem, and hopefully, all will be ok for the next C5 run.
I seem to get more enjoyment out of the C5 than I do my Classic car,LOL.
By the way Karl, are you shure that the Mini el requires a MOT every year,as several people recon it should not need one? Bit of a problem as no one around here does 3 wheeled vehicles,LOL.

Although the mini-el is tax exempt (because it is electric), in order to obtain your free tax disc you have to MoT and insure it for road use. Assuming it has been taxed previously your road tax renewal will show what documents you'd need to produce if you wanted to go to the Post Office to collect a new disc.
Electric Commercial vehicles are MoT exempt, maybe thats what people are referring to ?
