Really good C5 I'm selling on EBay.  Bodywork is amazing - has the usual ware and tare to be expected from a C5, but looks lovely.

Few very minor issues - main one is chain tensioner.  Needs repairing or possibly replacement.

Apart from that and a few other little things outlined in the eBay deccription, it's very sound indeed. This is an extremely good C5. All electricals work perfectly, battery connector kit installed. 

I've taken it to many shows and been to multiple C5 Alive events, completed the very long Zutphen run in 2011 with absolutely no issues. Would be great if it could stay in the C5Alive community.

OK I'm bumping my own post up and giving anyone interested 3 days to make an offer then it will be withdrawn from sale, and I will take delivery.

If anyone wants delivery to their door by a specialist carrier with a van, the cost will be £50 with full insurance included, and delivery will be within 7 days.

Hi I don't think that you will be able to find any material that will glue the parts together ...Sinclair used wire mesh and heated it until it fused both parts  together ...you can see it if you look close ..I think the only way  is to have it welded together ...

Hi all,

Here is the C5 itself...















I purchased the C5 off the original owner from new, who is now an elderly gentleman. The C5 has been in dry-storage for over a decade but as you can see, is in need of some TLC and restoration to tidy it up and get it back running again. There's no battery included, however the motor and electrics I have been told should be in good working order still, and it has the indicator lights on both sides.

The C5 is in Scotland (Edinburgh) if you cannot collect, I can help arrange delivery either using a man-and-a-van service or a pallet to curb side, cost of delivery probably will be about £50-£60 maybe a bit less if you're up North or easy to get to on along a regular route.

What do you do about rust on the chassis?

I assume it's best to try to remove this and treat the metal with some anti-rust paint, rather than just leave it and let it get worse?

I assume a complete strip-down is the best way to go when treating the chassis for rust, may as well do the whole thing, rather than just the rust exposed area?

i am allmost sure it can be fifex  , back in the eighties when i was still windsurfing the board were made of the same material.
and believe me i have had to fix my board more thene once.
i used a "glue"gun with special sticks. maybe a local surfshop (old school) can help you

Sounds like a good approach! Could try an adhesive approach first would be neater, and if that doesn't prove strong enough, perhaps try some brackets and bolt+nuts approach in discrete places where it won't show. Surely can't be that difficult to fix the two halves together!?

If it were me, because I live right ontop of a large industrial estate with 1,000s of small businesses specializing in all kinds of fields, I'd probably source out a plastic welding company and have it done professionally. I doubt they would charge much.
