We've been invited to take part in the centenary celebrations for the Test Hill at Brooklands Museum.
http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/

This is basically a really steep hill that we probably have no hope of getting up - but it guarantee's a laugh  ;D

Can anyone beat Ray's effort at the September '08 event ?

Not much notice, but for those that want to it could be a chance to modify your C5 and claim the glory for being the first C5 to get to the top !

A reminder of the scale of the challenge !!

There is a press conference for this in February, so it looks like it will be quite a big event and high profile.

Hopefully we can manage a good turn out of C5's  8)

I would love to join you all on this one, as the last time at brooklands was a great day, but its the weekend we come back from Disney Paris so i will have to wait till the second brooklands meeting.
Looking forward to the first meeting of the year that i can attend.

A real shame you can't make it mate - I reckon you could have gone a lot further up the hill !

Still, there is always the chance they might let you try it again in September  ;)

Angie (noonoo) and I went along to Brooklands yesterday to help with the press conference, part of the build up for the Test Hill centenary.

As always, once it got busy we didn't have time to take many piccies - but here are a few we took on arrival ;
(ps ignore the date shown, I changed batteries on my camera and forgot to amend the date  ::))

The model that used to be located outside Heathrow Airport,on the roundabout;

...plus the real thing peeking out from behind the building;

..me having a laugh on a Raleigh Chopper. Weird thing is, it's the same colour as the one I had as a kid  8)

...the C5's parked amongst some of the vehicles that will be at the main event

...Angie trying out a new toy  ;D

A busy, fun day. Some journalists tried out the C5's on a "test area" set aside. One gent even interviewed me - but I forgot to ask which station it was from  ::), he then test rode a C5 talking into the microphone.

Everyone who tried a C5 ended up with the "C5 grin" , with complete agreement that they are superb fun and didn't deserve the bad press they got in 1985.

That alone made the whole day worthwhile  8).

The Brooklands staff also commented on how the paying visitors to the museum formed a queue wanting to try out the C5. Although we weren't a scheduled part of the programme, we did allow a few people out on them , which was a huge success.
We're now looking into arranging some demonstration rides during the Easter half-term, helping the museum raise some much needed funds.

With regards to the Test Hill event on 22nd March, could anyone that is interested in bringing along their C5 let me know.
Same as with last years Brooklands event, entry will be free to those that participate - but you will need to be on the list.

...it's a "freebie list" ,  if your name's not on it - you don't get in for free  ;)

So if you want to join in and get in for nothing, best you let me know fairly soon  :)
