you can soften the old glue with a hair drier and then use hot water with one of the sponge abrasive pan cleaners.

Karl

Not tried it out on a c5, but I find gently warming with a hairdryer (softens the glue) and then lightly rubbing with a cloth and white spirit removes most stickers and residue from motorbike or car panels.

Thanks to you both will try both methods and get back to you .bye Chas

Hat's off to you Chas - you really are the 'Daddy' when it comes to restoration - another fantastic job

Looking forward to getting a photo of it's grandchild 'Goldfinger' next to it.

Retro Andy

WOW, I reckon you might get one or two looks in it as no one will have a clue what it is. You have done a really good job mate, whats next ?

The next thing is to replace the 900 watt motor on the 24volt C5 .It was'nt powerfull enough only got 18 mph out of it and it was running to hot so going to replace it with a standard motor with a  metal insert in the gearbox .And see how it goes

MikeDX

Chas, that is fantastic. You have done yourself proud there!

is there a pod holder missing from the back in this pic?

Can't wait to see you drive that up the road! Get a video ASAP! :) :)

Well spotted ...There is something missing well not missing as such I only had one must buy another (the holes at the back where just open )and didn't look very good so I fitted the blank and as you can see it looks ok will have to get another) it's a blank off a water tank. Also I noticed that there are two screw holes at the front on the runners there must have been two round poles fitted to join both sides up .Of to Wilkinsons to buy two brush poles..
