Hi all just had a new gearbox insert made up but not tested yet but looking good it will be a lot stronger that the original as there will be 4 small gears going round instead or three ..Thanks to Simon for suggesting that I have a go at making one with 4 gears ...
I will post more info as to how it runs ..But first have to have the drive teeth fitted ..

Will this change the speed / torque of the gearbox.

Hi there Lance the new gearbox will not increse the speed or the torque but what it will do is to spread the load on the small gears more  evenly instead of 33% of the load on each gear it will be down to 25%  and hopefully  make the gearbox stronger especially when the C5 has been converted to run on 24 volts . But as yet I have not tested it out ....

Hi Chas, I only have a hole in my boot, ie no lock at all, I do have however two battery keyswitches which I have had keys made to fit and was wondering if they are interchangable,
