Dear all

Does anybody have a set of side panels they wouldn't mind loaning to me briefly? I have a friend who is quite a seamstress who would be interested in trying to create a pair using the originals as a template.

If this works out, we could easily run up new panels in alternate designs!

They would be returned unmarked, this would be purely to take measurements and observe the fabric for its various properties.

If you do have a set lurking in your garage Karl & they are surplus to requirements then I would be interested in buying them.

PLOD11

I have a set here as well if you need to borrow them, also the cover thingy, the one i have has got a few holes in it so  maybe this could also be recreated with a more modern fabric.

On another forum someone was looking to make some of these out that Wet suit material (neoprene) but for some reason it didn't happen.

Adam Harper made a solar panel for Arthur C. Clarks sinclair C5 for use in sunny Tia land if that counts.

He Umpa,

I was thinking, since you can get flexible solar panels now, to cover the whole Sinclair.
But I am afraid you have to wait a couple of days before you have enough power to drive a couple of miles.
Maybe as some sort of rescue accessory, you take a 80 square feet solar blanket, spread it out when your in battery trouble and after a few hours it can bring you home  ;D
On the other hand, there is a chain and pedal rescue mechanism already build in. That could help you in this situation.  :D
