Donna at Brooklands Museum has invited c5alive to attend and display some c5's at the New years Day Gathering ;

...probably not an event for anyone who will be having a skinful the night before as it will be an early start  ;D

I have the day off from work so will be going along with electricDave.

Some info from the Brooklands website;

New Year's Day Gathering

Sunday, January 1, 2012

All classic, vintage and veteran cars, motor cycles and commercial vehicles are welcome for possibly the largest New Year's Day gathering in the South East!  Entry is via the Campbell Gate off Brooklands Road for pre-1973 vehicles, whose occupants will receive a discount of £1 off our usual admission prices. Parking in and around the Paddock and on the Finishing Straight for these vehicles.

As an added attraction this year the cars taking part in the London to Cape Town World Cup Rally will be scruitineered at the Museum during the day before being flagged off at 4pm - see the separate event entry for more details.
http://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/index.php?/events/details/london-to-cape-town-world-cup-rally-start/

Open from 10am - 4pm, normal Museum Admission prices apply.

For those just turning up to look at this wonderful display, as well as the rest of the Museum and its exhibits, there will be parking in The Heights off Wellington Way.
The bar and restaurants will be open for our traditional turkey-free New Year's Day lunches and snacks.

Let me know if you want to come along  8)

It would be a lovely start to the New Year to have a good turn out of c5's at this event. Hope you can all make it  :)

Karl

Brooklands are running an advertising campaign for this event in Classic Car Weekly so hopefully it should be well supported , assuming there are enough non-alcoholics/tee-totallers around  ;D

On Monday I'll be contacting Donna at Brooklands regarding tickets for us so please let me know if you still want to come along and display a c5 so I know how many to ask for.

I can be a 'maybe' for this, although as before I would be c5-less as I dont have anything I can use for transport :(

Latest update, the tickets for this are on their way  8).

The start time is a little later for this one, gates open at 0930. If you're coming along see you at the cafe for a hot bacon buttie (or whatever floats your boat  :D ).

For those wanting to meet us we have been allocated a space behind the hangar.

As always mate you are more than welcome to come along ,  though you may have to pay at the gate to get in as it is too late for me to order any more tickets. Not a bad thing as Brooklands is a charity and all donations are gratefully received. Hope to see you there  :)
