Luke, that wasn't a silly comment. Some people will know more than others, but never any harm in asking questions  :)

I think the only way you will see it burning down the strip at Santa Pod is if someone sets  fire to it ..

I know Adam was a C5 man but what did he do for people on this forum

He did come along to a couple of our Brooklands events where he sold genuine Sinclair accessories at reduced prices and even gave lectures on how to maintain the c5.
He was also very supportive of our London-Brighton run at a time when most people were simply dismissive that it couldn't be done. It is a real shame that his achievements with the world record using a c5 seem largely forgotten by anyone outside this forum  :(

Now Mr Harper has left the 'C5 LEGEND' position vacant, let's start a mini-poll on who it is now. Current nominations are... Marty for his control box wizardry. Chas for his partss and ingenuity. Karl for his dedication to the club and bringing the members/public/media together. All vote..... Now!

C5martin and radiomarty are two different people.

C5martin used to run C5alive before Karl took over. And Marty is a bit clever when it comes to C5 electrics and other bits  :)

I didn't think C5 martin ran the forum ?  :-\  I thought he was the resident tech guy in all things C5 ?  I may be wrong  :-[

Karl

I guess it's easy for me to forget how quickly membership rotates on this forum and how much knowledge gets lost along the line. A brief history ,some areas glossed over for brevity, to bring everyone up to speed.

C5Martin set up his own website, called c5martin  ;D, before c5alive was originally set up by a nice guy called Chris Gavin-Egan (who also appeared on the telly).

Chris then sold C5alive to a guy called Mark , who then sold it on to me.

When I took over c5alive it had its problems (this bit glossed over)  , but c5Martin lived nearby and we took the decision to effectively merge the websites. The c5martin tech section is basically taken from his website . With Martins help c5alive gradually got back on its feet and ,despite the best efforts of a certain individual (this bit glossed over), I think this incarnation of c5alive can be called a success  8).

C5Martin has since become involved in Kit Cars and is exploring that hobby. I'm still in contact with him and he continues to help me with any c5 queries when I ask.

Once C5Martin moved on I needed someone to help out with the electrical stuff that Martin used to sort. Step forward Radiomarty who continues to help out to this day.

During all this activity I managed to mend some bridges with Adam Harper of Sinclair Vehicles . He didn't really get on with Chris and Mark when they ran c5alive, but he seemed ok with us. Sadly he has since taken time out and I'm not sure if he will be returning to the world of C5's.

I think that sort of sums it all up ? Apologies to anyone missed out...I did say it would be brief with bits glossed over  ;)

Thats a good summing up Karl, and i'd definetly say a success. It's nice to see still that with lots of clubs / groups leaving forums and moving to facebook, that this one is still active and going strong  :)

And how about Mrs Radiomarty for the C5 Legend  :)
( or is that going to open up even more questions  ;D )

Dave.76

I definitely think its a success. It's one of the most helpful and freindly forums I have been on :) :).

Mrs RadioMarty is such a legend she should have her own website  ;)

Anyone that is the first person to ever pilot a c5 to the top of the Prescot Hill Climb circuit, then unfortunately stack it on the return leg , but still ask if the c5 is ok whilst in the back of an ambulance gets my vote as an all time c5 legend  8)
