I've almost taken every thing off the chassis apart from the chain tension.

Started sanding the chassis



Where the dark spots (on the left hand side) are that is where the rust has eaten its way into the chassis.

I've completed the top and bottom it's just the sides I need ti sand now

..a good effort, but I must admit I found it too time consuming so I always get my chassis' shot blasted. It gives a nicer finish for a lot less elbow grease

My dad is hoping to get it sand blasted using his one. As you say it is very time consuming doing it by hand

We had ago with the sand blaster last night and the sand was not abrasive so I'll have to get more sand and give it another go.
