Hi all had a bit of spare time on my hands so I decided to have a go at making a chain tensioner .

Well just finished making one .Take a look at it

The difference is that the one that I have made will not fall off as it will be bolted on with a small nut/bolt

Looks great, well done  8)

This has always been a weak point on the C5

Will these be available to buy ?

Chas - if possible , could you make a few of those clip conversions and sell via your section on this site ? As Plod says the standard clips are getting to be a real pain and I could use a few of those myself !

Email me if there's any snags mate  8)

Hi there all just finished making a few ...

The difference with the ones that I have made to the original ones .

Is first of all they are made from aluminum so they are lighter

Also the problem with the original ones is that they have plastic parts that come off and get lost

So I decided to make them so that nothing could fall off so once fitted they would stay on .

Also made the tension tighter so if the chain has stretched it will still work ...(up to a point)

Karl

They look really good , nicely finished as well  8)
