Tired of frequent chain's derailments, yesterday i built a simple remedy.

I started from a 20mm aluminium bar, cutted two 40mm lenght pieces and drillead a 6mm hole on both to pass the bolt.

Then i built a little fold on the upper corner, to lock it on the tensioner and prevent possible revolution around the bolt ...

This is the result:

Now i can freely pedal also in the bumpy ride, without the chain jump out ... :)

Really liking that fix.

How long did it take to fabricate do you think?

Looks good mod Alex.

I have an issue that my spring on one of my C5's keeps unclipping itself.

Its driving me up the wall.

I think the mod for this is a cable tie through the center of the spring, and through the frame bracket, just tight enough to allow the spring to move up and down. This should stop it coming off and in the event it comes off, will stop you losing it, there are some pics on the forum somewhere....  ;)

Hi there do you have a pare of long nose pliers if so  you can use them to close the gap ...

alexbromo

I noticed the end of the spring is shaped to avoid it jump out, but in my experience the simple maneuver to unclip and re-clip it, can distort it.  :(

Chas I have not got a suitable one, If you have a photo of the right type I will get one.

Alex the spring is now getting quite missed shaped as you have suggested.

thanks Lance
