Front Wheel

Hello

Does anyone have a decent front wheel for sale?

The ones I have has got melted brake pad rubber glued to the rim.  I am hoping to get one that is free of this.

I've got a spare without tyre, original Sinclair plastic one in pretty good condition. If you want to message me I don't mind selling it as it's stuck in a box of other spares  Make me an offer and it's yours!

I don't need a tyre just a wheel one that doesn't have this on it so I can get the front brake to work:



I am new to C5 so I have no idea what a front wheel would cost sorry.

Ah, I just had a look and my spare's got the same grey that yours has so not much point. I do have a metal front wheel that needs new bearings if that's any use to you though?

I'd keep using that wheel as it looks as though it has a few miles left in it yet. If you get any distortion , best I can describe is like burns or pot holes in the plastic rim , then that is the time to change as it indicates the plastic is starting to degrade and could fail .

On the c5's I've used I've found that the discolouration in itself isnt a problem.

Ah right thanks for that Karl. I thought the reason my front brakes is so useless is because of this.

I did think maybe sanding it or putting some marks into it might help creat friction.

Sanding the surface is a good idea to break the polish, but ensure the grade is not too fine or too course. I don't think you will be able to remove the grey surface as this is most lightly heat discolouration.

If you are worried about safety then go metal or change to disks, with the wheel covers fitted it will not be obvious that the front wheel is not original.
