Grey boot inner question

Hello all

quick question

When I got my c5 (grey boot) the inside storage compartment was made out of corrugated plastic. I simply thought that it was originally plastic and someone had made this as a quick solution, but have recently seen another c5 on eBay where the boot was open in one of the pics, and it also had the exact same thing with the same writing along the side

My question is, did they come out of the factory like this or was this a amazing coincidence?

Yes it's as it should be. There should be some removable plastic strips that sit on the black plastic inner, but they usually get pulled off when you take your shopping bag out the boot.

Weight was a major factor in the boots design.

Karl

Umpa is quite right, the boot liner is made of what looks like cardboard - but it is strong enough for the job and surprisingly water resistant. Take a look at the pictures from some of our meetings - we've been out in all weathers and although we've encountered a few snags with the c5's , none of the boot liners have yet disintegrated  ;)

Oh. Mine just did - the back fell off. Bugger. Has anyone got one for sale?
thanks
Mark

Umpa

what your boot fell off ? or the inner ?

minimin

The boot, but the inner broke.  ???
Mark

Umpa

How much do you want to pay ?

I have a brown boot with a working lock that any key fits that I could let go.

Minimin is now selling his C5   :'(;

I've spoken to him on the phone this evening, he's given it a really good attempt at a full restoration but it wasn't working out so he's reluctantly selling it on.

At least he gave it a try , so full respect where it's due  8)

Umpa

That's a real shame.  I hope you change your mind.

minimin

Nahh, its unlikely. Its caused me too much hassle. Thanks for all your help everyone.
