No, not dressed in some dodgy "weekend attire"  :o, we're taking "Challenger" to the alternative energy drag racing event at Santa Pod on 23rd April  ;D. Found the details on the BVS website ;

I've contacted the organisers and they are more than happy for us to take part  8)

If you can make it, why not come along and cheer us on ! I reckon it should be a really interesting event with some amazing machinery taking part.

Might come and watch challenger 'kick butt' as it's on my doorstep.

I can borrow a a laser speed gun if you need it to check the speed ?

Cheers guys - it would be fab to have some company. ElectricDave is coming along, he hasn't gobbled as many pies as me so I've volunteered him to do the speed runs....no point giving away any unnecessary advantage to the competition  ;D

Although the organisor will be forwarding me some more details later, their website already has a lot of info about the day  :)

you might be better of with an egg timer  ;D

i'd love to make it if i can, will they allow us to 'bomb about' in our C5's? we already know the public's generic interest level in our wacky racers, and would add to everyone's day

Should anyone else want to bring their c5 along it looks as though we'd be made welcome , this is from Rick's email to me ;

....If any other C5 owners want to join you, just tell them to drop me a line......

Yours sincerely,

That sounds like a great event, but unfortunatly, with it being a Friday, i wont be able to come along.

Bet they'll be some very interesting vehicles there  :)

...if you want to go on the track you need to register via the link at the top of the page. Entry is free for those taking part, but not for the spectators.

Karl

"Team C5alive" has been included on the 2010 Entry list (scroll down);

...how cool is that !  ;D

Mind you, some of the competition looks a bit serious  :o

..might have to put electricDave on a strict training regime if he's to get the better of that Tesla  :D :P

Karl

This event is very close now, I've received the "joining instructions" for team C5alive.

In order to gain access to the track we have to produce a driving licence (first for a Sinclair c5 owner) and will also need to wear a crash helmet when doing the speed runs...

Motorsport rules I guess...bit of a novelty in a C5  ;D

Hope you all had a great day at the Pod. Looks like you had nice weather for it  8)

Looking forward to seeing lots of pics of both Challenger and the new toy, although i don't really like your chances against the Tesla  :D :D
