This C5 has more lives than a cat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice to see that you can get such a good range with the S5 batteries, I have 2 and will be using them as i have started to do a 24v conversion.

Karl (BooBoo) any info on the dragon gearbox as I am thinking of a turbo (36v) button and the plastic gearbox will not cope.

" the guy i got it off was a enthusiast and had all the chassis powder coated and all wires replaced bit off a rubbish paint job but rides really well "

I'd like to see the seller do better with spray cans in the garden  :D
And it was 2 owners previous that did all the work  :D

Notice he's dropped the price. This morning it was starting bid of £450, no offers or BIN.

I wonder if it's still got the keyring loop bit holding the chain together  :D

Karl

daz, don't worry about it mate as beauty is always in the eye of the beholder  ;)...it is a cool design as proved by the good comments it received at the c5-25 event where it drew as much attention as the furry c5  ;D

@lance , the dragon gearbox and motor combo is progressing well....just working out the potential damage the rest of the c5 is now suffering  ::)  :-X

minidaz

Not worried about it at all ... just thought it was a funny comment  :D
Still might do another one one day ... bright pink anyone  :P :D

Daz

Daz please keep quiet. My daughter wants a pink one. I have told her no, but she can have a few stick on pink flowers............. :D :D :D :D :D This makes me cringe..................... ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

i thought it was a ok spray job glad to have owned it for a while....it got  me plenty of comments when i was out and about on it i must say ,did i sell it to cheap at £265.00 ????????????might charge more for the next one.

Jonny

36v  :o that'll kill the motor in no time

PLOD11

Its certainly clocking up a few miles  ;D

I was thinking of doing a "Camo" painted one, using an old body shell that needs painting !  :P or maybe a Del boy yellow one  ;D ;D ;D ;D  Lovely Jubleeeee

There was a pink one on e bay just recently, dont think it sold as the price was vey high, looked em sort of , well i wont say it. But like Karl said "Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder"

As long as its running, doesn't really matter what it looks like .......

minidaz

Maybe pink wouldn't be a good idea  :D

Camo sounds cool though  :)

It is a great C5 and hopefully who ever buy's it will bring it along on a run - I have a picture of it together with the furry beast and Goldfinger and it's a top picture - just remembered that chain repair and your bionic eye daz  :) :) :)

MikeDX

I always liked the paint job. Really want to do one in the same red that my car is in.

Have to wait until we move house now though :(

thats sounds interesting,  is it the red one owned by a famous DJ ?

Hi Jonny,

The original C5 motor will operate at 24v will additional cooling. This is required to stop the motor / it's magnets from becoming unstuck from the casing. The motor will actually run in very short bursts of 36v but gets very hot quickly. The main element being the gearbox is made of plastic and the little white cogs disintegrate - hence the development of an alternative gearbox.  Hope this explains a bit.
