on replacing the wheel only to find that it will not go flush as the sleeve will not go in far enough.???why

They can be a bit tight to push right in, might need a bit of help.

I would take it all off, including the sleave and grease it all and make sure there is nothing stopping it, then reasemble.

With the wheel removed, the chain can pull the axle towards the front of the c5 ,so give the axle a wiggle as you slide the sleeve into position. If you are very careful, use a hammer and screwdriver to GENTLY tap the sleeve home.

C5 ENTHUSIAST + RESTORER

Hi there not sure how far you have pushed the sleeve  on but you will find that they do not go flush with the large cog ...The only way is to download a photo of the wheel with the sleeve on ....
